Born within the walls of Yongdingmen, raised outside Xizhimen Gate.
Admitted to Peking University in 1977,
entered International Education College of Tongji University
in 1984. In 1985 traversed Siberia via Moscow and Warsaw to commence doctoral studies in Germany.
Post-graduation from Goethe-Universität Frankfurt,
transitioned through several Frankfurt-based companies before finally taking retirement from
Allianz Global Investors.
